Two Blogs I Love

I am in LOVE with the blog fashiontoast!!
and... with the blog What is Reality Anyway?
These two amazing fashionistas have their own blogs that feature their lives and adventures and the outfits they wear! It's all about personal style and finding daily inspirations! You also fall in love with both girls while admiring their sense of style and rockstar lifestyles. They both have completely different styles and I love checking both blogs out for my own inspiration.

Ohh and also... they both know the same girl who adores each of them with kisses on the cheek! Photos of each of them found on their separate blogs.

Prettiness. Art and Fashion.

Pretty art I came across while shopping at Holt Renfrew downtown Calgary. I love Holt Renfrew and all the pretty clothes I get to gawk at. And I love pretty art. I'm not sure who the artist is since I forgot once I walked away from reading it at the store, but I enjoyed it while I was shopping. I love it when Art and Fashion come together.

This past week it was Alberta Fashion Week 2010 in Calgary! I only got to go Friday night since the rest of the week my nights were jammed with school and other obligations. But I loved every minute of it!! I wish I had taken more pictures but to see more you can click here. I'm so proud of my city for recently bringing fashion week to Western Canada and showing the world how fashionable and cool Alberta is. Kiss kiss.

Proenza Schouler Fall 2010

* There is nothing more that I love then tights with a fabulous mini dress. I want.

Vanessa Bruno Fall 2010

* So far this is my favourite collection I have seen. I love the knee high socks with shorts and I want a pair of those boots! I am also very partial to the colours used and how simplistic the clothing is. I love the mixture of fur parkas along with dress coats. It's just amazing.

DVF Fall 2010 RTW

"I always wanted to live a man's life in a woman's body" -DVF

My Favourites from Diane Von Furstenberg's Fall 2010 RTW collection. I LOVE her. And this line is so beautiful!

"I always wanted to live a man's life in a woman's body." That quote, which appeared at the top of her show notes, is something Diane von Furstenberg has said before, so it's perhaps surprising that men's suiting is something she hasn't explored much in the past. Its appearance here today helped make for one of the designer's more satisfying shows in a while.

My Love Affair with the 60's

Edie Sedgwick

Pattie Boyd

Twiggy

It all started with the movie Factory girl... about the "it" girl of the 60's, Edie Sedgwick (and now i absolutely love Sienna Miller too)! I fell in love with everything from the fashion to the free spirited lifestyle Edie seemed to live. I know it was only a movie, but I was hooked! I also recently checked out the book "Wonderful Tonight" by Pattie Boyd, who was married to George Harrison from the Beatles, and later Eric Clapton another musician. She was also a high profile model who helped define the 60's. And then of course there is Twiggy. All fashion icons that i love. There is something about the 60's that truly captivates me. The music, the art, the fashion, the people, and the vibe i get. It was a revolution of freedom and all new creativity. People explored and discovered in the chic, yet hippie atmosphere.

In Pattie's book she says
"London belonged to the young. All the old class structures of our parents' generation were breaking down. All the old social mores were swept away. No one cared where you came from or what school you'd gone to, what accent you spoke with or how much money you had. All that mattered was what you could do, what you could create. ... Painters, poets, writers, designers, admen, media figures, and of course, musicians expressed themselves with fearlessness, freshness, and freedom. They wore fabulous frocks and flowery shirts and grew their hair long. They weren't going to knuckle down and wear the uniform of their class. The rule book had been thrown away. A new age and a new value system had been born. People wanted to experiment and have fun... It was a golden age, an exciting time to be alive."
